I guess it's the dickensish that attracts. I do love night-time photos; I love the light, the colours, the shadows ... The deserted streets that carry the suggestion of life going on behind the closed doors and shuttered windows. The mysterious secrecy. Buildings take on a life of their own at night when they are the protagonists of the streets.
If you are going to get all 'dickenish' i will say not a word, but let me know if any photos remind you of Mills and Boon and I vow to swagger ye both with my intelligent remarks!
hate to say so but for me it was definitely more dickens than M&B. In M&B it's the people who are important and the scenery is never more than background. In dickens the 'set' can often be up there with the characters. it's described with equal passion and force. not knocking M&B, though. May they live forever!
