Calçots

On Saturday evening Laura, Manu and I went to eat calçots, which is something I've been wanting to do for a long time.

The calçots are roast over a flaming fire and served on a tile. They look like this.

Although eating them is lots of fun, it's a messy business, which is why they give you a bib.

First you peel off the blackened outer leaves, as Manu and Laura are so expertly doing. Then you spoon on plenty of delicious sauce from the little pot.

And in it goes!

They're delicious!
